Updating house exterior
Some charcoal paving paint for the bare concrete steps and landing ensures it blends in with the rest of the home’s exterior.
Spring is also the start of a very busy season for home buyers.Scrappy garden beds and random tufts of greenery gave the impression of a neglected, unloved front yard.Neat gardens are a great way to add value to a house, so I came up with the idea of creating new garden beds made from low-cost timber sleepers. In order to put this kind of renovation into an older home, you would need to really love the neighborhood! Channel Builders gave this brick home a complete facelift and a beautiful one at that! The transformation found on An Urban Cottage to this simple two story home is stunning.Never underestimate what shutters can do for a home! The front entrance also adds character and architectural detail with the red door and addition of the wood overhang. The roof line changed with the new gables, the windows were replaced and some of the brick were covered with stone. By adding columns and creating a porch with larger windows to match the doorway, this home looks totally different.
New landscaping, light fixtures and a new roof made it look fresh. The remodeling of the front entrance gave the whole house a face lift. By adding shutters to the small window, painting the front door black to match the shutters, adding landscaping beds to the left of the driveway and power washing the cement, it gave this ranch massive curb appeal. It also appears that they installed a larger window on the left but even without that costly change, the other improvements were enough to make a major difference for little money. A southern style front porch and second floor were added.
